NJ.com Profiles Brian Cheripka of iStar

NJ.com (the online website for the Star Ledger) recently ran a profile of iStar’s Brian Cheripka and his work to transform Asbury Park’s waterfront redevelopment area.

Entitled “Meet the 'boss' who's leading Asbury Park's waterfront revival,” the article touches on iStar’s $300M investment in the City and the successful projects that have been completed thus far, including the Asbury Hotel and the renovation of Asbury Lanes as well. He also provides a glimpse into the planned opening of the Asbury Ocean Club, which is scheduled to open to new occupants in May.

RCSG has proudly worked with Brian and iStar in Asbury Park for several years.

NJ BPU Approves Community Solar Pilot Program

The New Jersey Board of Public Utilities (BPU) approved rules for a new community solar pilot program that will give many renters, low-income families and businesses an easy and affordable way to enjoy the economic and environmental benefits of solar for the first time.

The ruling clears the way for at least 225 MW of community solar to be built in New Jersey over the next three years, which will provide bill savings and power approximately 20,000-30,000 homes and other customers. The program will also create local clean energy jobs and help the state meet its ambitious renewable energy goals.

In 2018, New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy signed the state’s new community solar program into law, which is designed to give more customers a way to go solar by participating in a shared solar installation located somewhere else in their community and receiving a credit on their utility bill for their share of the power produced.

RCSG worked closely with our client, the Coalition for Community Solar Access on both the 2018 legislation and providing informative industry input into the now final rules.
